DRDO DIHAR Ladakh Internship 2026

DRDO DIHAR Ladakh Internship 2026 is offered by the Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR), a premier establishment under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), located in Leh, Ladakh. This internship is a valuable opportunity for engineering students to gain hands-on experience in defence-related high-altitude research, trial and testing, and cold-arid-area technologies. Selected students will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 for a period of 6 months.

To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be an Indian national
- be a B.E./B.Tech student currently in the 7th or 8th Semester of their undergraduate engineering programme
- hold a minimum CGPA of 7.5 or equivalent, maintained continuously across all previous semesters from an AICTE/UGC approved university or institute
- be below 28 years of age
- be enrolled in one of the following disciplines:
  - Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
  - Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering,
  - Electronics & Communication Engineering,
  - Computer Science Engineering,
  - Information Technology Engineering,
  - Civil Engineering
Note: No equivalent qualification will be considered.

- Selected students will receive the following benefits:
  - Monthly stipend of ₹5,000 for the 6-month internship period (Stipend will be paid in two instalments — after 3 months and after 6 months of completion)
  - Certificate of completion
  Note: Internship may be extended by 8–10 months without stipend for B.E./B. Tech project work.

- - Filled out the application form as per the prescribed format
  - Mark sheets of all previous semesters reflecting CGPA/equivalent marks
  - Aadhaar card
  - Reference/Request letter from college on official letterhead (as per prescribed format), signed by Principal/HOD
  - Brief bio-data (less than 300 words)
  - Reference/Request letter from the college
  - Bonafide Certificate from college
  - Police verification certificate
  - 3 passport-size colour photographs
  - Aadhaar card and college ID card
  - Bank account details for stipend transfer
